A day in Haiti

When you are in Haiti, sometimes it feels like you have stepped back in time. The mule driven cart reminds me of what it would have been like 100 years ago. It is not unusual to see men pushing big wooden wheel barrows loaded down with all kinds of stuff. On the road we came upon a big mud hole. The children would run ahead of us guiding our truck through the mud hole. They were cute. After they would want some money or food. We gave them both.
I had a great day today. I met a missionary who works for Medical Ambassadors, we went to a Haitian church and experienced some of the most beautiful singing I have ever heard. We also saw some families go forward to dedicate their babies to the Lord, it was awesome. In the afternoon we went to 4VEH radio station for an English service where some of the missionaries meet to pray and worship together. There are also Haitian friends that go too.
The message today was in Isaiah 55:8,9 " For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways" declares the Lord. " As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Jerimiah 29:11 " For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." These scriptures are so important for us, we need to remember this when we don't always understand why things are happening in our lives or other people's life.
